It is time to Take Action
Becoming an Eco Church is an opportunity to live out our faith in a tangible way, care for God’s good creation, and inspire our congregation to be part of a movement that is making a real difference.
Next Steps
Sign Up – Visit Eco Church Registration to become part of the network.
Gather a Team – Identify a small group of passionate people within your parish who can explore how your church can take action.
Set Goals – Use the Eco Action Planner to establish practical steps for your church.
The Eco Church Action Planner resource has a questionnaire that helps churches reflect on how their rhythms and practices demonstrate and promote care for creation. Based on the reflections gained from the questionnaire, churches are encouraged to pick 1-3 goals to increase their participation in and promotion of creation care activities. The resource contains recommendations for a whole range of ideas from the simple (such as having labelled recycling bins) to the more involved (such as growing native plants). The goals chosen are entirely up to the church. The resource does not seek to be prescriptive but to meet churches where they are at and to encourage practical and achievable steps towards increased creation care engagement and participation.
